The Steiger story can be traced back more than half a century to 1963, when farming brothers Douglas and Maurice built their first articulated four-wheel drive tractor in a barn on the Steiger family farm in Minnesota, USA.

The powerful 238 hp tractor soon gained the attention of neighbours, and before long the Steiger brothers were building tractors to order. Six years later production was moved to a dedicated facility in Fargo, North Dakota, where Steigers are still made today.

In 1996 came arguably the biggest revolution yet in the articulated tractor sector, when Case IH pioneered the four-tracked pivot-steer format with the launch of the Quadtrac.

Since then the four-track system has been further developed and refined to create the tractor that continues to lead the high-hp tracked segment.

To deliver the highest power output of their class, Case IH Steiger and Quadtrac tractors rely on a high pressure common rail 12.9-litre FPT engine that features a two-stage turbo. Stage IV emission standards are met by way of HI-eSCR technology, without the use of a particle filter, a proven technology that delivers high levels of power and fuel economy with no compromise.

All you need to keep you in command

Long days have always been part of farming - yet they don't have to be tiring or leave you out of touch. Case IH cab design pushes boundaries in the Surveyor cab and allows you to work in the optimal environment. It all starts with the proven Case IH four-point cab suspension. The system stabilises the cab in all directions and ensures a smooth ride regardless of terrain. Shock absorbing components on each cab corner combine springs, dampers and mounts to fully isolate the cab from the chassis and eliminate any possible transfer of vibrations The comfortable seat offers plenty of support and adjustment to make long, productive days easier and more serene. However, the optional red leather seat with active suspension and integrated heating and ventilation is the preferred choice for premium rides and supreme comfort. A 40-degree swivel eases vision to the rear of the tractor, further reducing the strain on the operator's body. Lastly, the steering wheel can be tilted and height adjusted to find the ideal no-strain driving position. The Multicontroller armrest and AFS Pro 700 terminal are an integral part of the seat, for the ultimate in ease of operation. Meanwhile, the overall cab climate can be altered via the controls in the upper right roof console.
